Garden Maintenance

Is your garden looking a little tired?  Don't have the time or confidence to tackle trimming and pruning?  I am now offering a soft gardening service, where for $50/hour I will come and get your existing garden looking great!  This service includes weeding, shrub pruning and trimming of low/medium hedges, as well as topiary pruning.  I'm happy to do one-offs, or come and visit regularly to help you keep on top of things.  This option is ideal for rental and commercial properties, or for those of you who are just not gardeners but want people to think you are...

Finstock Way, Rolleston

I designed this showhome garden in 2023, helped the contractors place the plants, and even got involved in planting it out!  I now maintain it, keeping everything looking ship-shape for the potential customers that visit... I normally visit the garden around once a month in spring and summer now that it's established, to spray, weed, trim and clip...

The Patio & Amenity Areas

I used some transplanted Renga renga (Arthropodium cirratum) and purple liriopes in this area, so it was always going to be important to ensure the irrigation did its job to get the garden established...

Here we are, two years later. A deceptively easy-care garden, with a semi-formal feel.

First Impressions...

It's nice to do something different when I can, so I used some native Haloragis erecta 'Purpurea' and teamed it up with Pittosporum 'Hedgehog' to create a neat and colourful front garden.  Add to that a baby cloud tree underplanted with star jasmine, and we're hoping for impact...

Two years on, the cloud tree is starting to show some height and form (with some help from me clipping and training the branches and foliage), and the plants are all doing their job of keeping the weeds down and providing contrast in form and colour...

The Deck

These yuccas were transplanted from cuttings taken from my own plants, and took a while to establish in this area (I was worried for a bit...).  There are plans to add a steel pergola with two egg chairs at a later date...

And low and behold, the pergola was added, and the yuccas are happy as Larry...  The espaliered star jasmine is kept tightly clipped (very easy to do), and the area is looking nice and tropical...

Let me design you a garden with style...
