Garden Maintenance

Is your garden looking a little tired?  Don't have the time or confidence to tackle trimming and pruning?  I am now offering a soft gardening service, where for $50/hour I will come and get your existing garden looking great!  This service includes weeding, shrub pruning and trimming of low/medium hedges, as well as topiary pruning.  I'm happy to do one-offs, or come and visit regularly to help you keep on top of things.  This option is ideal for rental and commercial properties, or for those of you who are just not gardeners but want people to think you are...

Straven Road

These lovely clients had a very formal garden, but unfortunately had been given the wrong advice on when and how to trim their lonicera (Box Honeysuckle) hedges.  As a result of not trimming often enough, it became harder and harder to maintain the straight vertical and horizontal lines...  They felt frustrated and were absolutely fed-up with trying to maintain their lovely garden instead of getting out enjoying life!  They contacted me in 2023 to help regain control of the garden, but after a couple of visits, they decided to step away and leave it to me...  They do still like to do a little weeding (and the lawns of course), but I look after the remainder of the garden for them.

'First Impressions' - the driveway

The driveway hedge of Box Honeysuckle (Lonicera nitida) after the first harsh trim.  The hedge had previously been growing out over the driveway, on a very odd angle!

The same driveway hedge after just a season of trimming and feeding.

Problem Choisyas...

Choisya ternata (Mexican Orange Blossom) hedge, affected by sooty mould.

But after a bit of TLC, just one year later..

The 'I dread mowing the lawn' hedge...

'The hedge that made lawn mowing a nightmare'.  A Box Honeysuckle (Lonicera nitida) hedge that had truly got out of shape, and a little too tall to climb over for weeding.

The hedge was healthy enough, just angled wrongly, making it difficult for getting the mower in beside it.  Lonicera hedges are very fast-growing, so need trimming every 2 - 3 weeks in spring/summer.

A ruthless trim to not only push the hedge back and straighten it, but to also lower it to allow access for weeding...  The clients were very trusting...

And after the first year, we had it well under control.  With an extreme trim, regular clipping, and generous feeding, it is now a little lower, and the man in charge of the lawn mower is much happier... The family now leave the garden to me and are happy campers...

Let me design you a garden with style...
